Power drive system

We design, build and test all our power drive drum tippers in our UK manufacturing facility. Sourcing the highest quality parts makes certain that all our units require the minimum of maintenance. Electric Suitable for safe areas, this fully-powered drum tipper makes use of an onboard battery bank along with two DC electric motors; one for drive and one for clamp/lift/rotation. When the unit is not in use operators connect a mains power lead to the built-in charger to ensure the unit remains fully charged. Pneumatic Our pneumatic units can be certified for use in ATEX and UKEX areas, zones 1, 2, 21 and 22. Operators connect an airline to power a pneumatic-hydraulic circuit which powers the lift, clamp, rotation and drive of the unit. Precise drive control is achieved using a sophisticated pneumatic-hydraulic control circuit.

Rear tiller and control panel

The power drive system on this unit is controlled from the rear of the unit using a steerable tiller. The speed of the drive is adjusted using throttles and an anti-trap switch ensures the operator is kept safe at all times. The rear control panel features a range of push-button controls for the various functions along with a clamp pressure gauge and an emergency stop button for operators to cut off the unit's power if required.

Powered drum clamp and forward rotation

Our drum clamping head assembly offers efficiency improvements for those looking to speed up production. Approach a drum on the floor (or the corner of a pallet) and clamp the pads around the drum. The pressure gauge will raise up into the green section telling you the drum is safe to be lifted. The unit can then lift and tip the contents into the appropriate vessel. Rotation can be controlled via the rear panel push-buttons offering complete control while decanting.

Clamping pad design

The flexible rubber gripping pads adapt to the contours of your drums and are able to accommodate a wide range of drum diameters from 280mm to 600mm. The powered clamping pads can be configured to allow drums to be removed from the corner of a pallet. Each gripping head can be tailored to suit your specific drum handling application. When handling only 200- to 220-litre drums flexible pads are not required, in this instance, we can supply fixed-radius pads with a rubber lining.

Drum rotator suitability

Designed to be as versatile as possible, this power-clamp model can handle a wide range of drum types and sizes. The clamping pads can be provided for handling drums and barrels with a diameter range of between 280mm and 600mm. The system has been designed to handle drums of up to 1000mm in height; this covers the majority of drum types used in the market.

ATEX / UKEX-certified for gas and dust zones 1, 2, 21 and 22 (optional)

Our power-drive pneumatic-hydraulic drum rotators can be supplied ATEX and UKEX compliant, suitable for use in Zone 1, 2, 21 and 22 environments. Equipment is designed to ensure electrical continuity and that there is always a path to ground. All of our ATEX / UKEX drum handling equipment is supplied with a Declaration of Conformity which states compliance with the directives and relevant British and ISO Standards.
