Rolling resistance is determined by the types and qualities of the wheels used. We use castors made from premium polyurethane tyres with aluminium hubs. All the castors utilise precision bearings to further reduce rolling resistance. To keep a loaded drum dolly in a static position when not in use all four castors are fitted with foot-operated park brakes as standard. If your company requires a bespoke wheel specification for a particular project then please get in touch.
Industrial environments are tough on equipment due to constant use and heavy handling. We design and manufacture equipment so that it lasts decades and not just a few years. Our team of experienced welder fabricators manufacture equipment making use of industry best practices. Upon completion of a batch of welded products, a second welder inspects all welds to ensure quality, conformity and zero defects.
This oil drum dolly can be loaded using one of our Drum Tippers or Drum Lifting Trolleys. Alternately another safe piece of drum handling equipment can be used to place the drum onto the dolly. It is important the dolly is only used on flat and level ground to prevent accidental roll-away which could cause injury. For other tips on drum handling safety view our latest safety guidance.
A fully-certificated ATEX / UKEX oil drum dolly can be supplied for use in flammable/explosive areas. The 'Ex' rated model is suitable for zones 1, 2, 21 and 22 - gas and dust classified spaces, where explosive or potentially explosive atmospheres exist. An ATEX / UKEX model makes use of anti-static wheels and earthing chains. Each ATEX / UKEX oil drum dolly we manufacture is checked to ensure a path to ground is always present. A manufacturer’s Declaration of Conformity is supplied which demonstrates compliance with the directives and relevant British and ISO Standards.
