Cylinder securing head

The unit has a rubber support pad to suit gas bottles with diameters between 180mm to 550mm, and heights from 1200mm to 1800mm. The operator secures the cylinder in place against the pad using a ratchet and strap mechanism before lifting and maneuvering it into position.  The rubber pads provide additional grip between the cylinder and support pad ensuring the load is held securely throughout the handling operation. To detach the cylinder the ratchet mechanism is released, this is done by pulling the ratchet lever and rotating the handle forwards.

Sideways rotation

The unit is fitted with a slew-ring gearbox assembly which allows drums to be rotated sideways. The operator uses a long stainless steel crank handle to rotate the gearbox and therefore the drum. The advantage of this model over our other drum tippers is the smaller footprint and counterbalanced design. The slew-ring gearbox assembly is very robust and hard-wearing. The force required to turn the rotation crank handle is very low due to the high ratio of the slew-ring gearbox. When the operator is not rotating the gearbox with the crank handle the drum remains mechanically locked in place.

Manual hydraulic pump

This machine makes use of a 13cc hydraulic hand pump to raise the load. Operators move the handle back and forth to pump hydraulic fluid to the lift ram from the tank. To lower the cylinder down a manual release handle is twisted anti-clockwise; this returns the hydraulic fluid back to the tank from the lift ram.  We use only the highest-quality hydraulic components to ensure long-term reliability. Each hydraulic system is assembled by hand and hydraulic hoses are cleaned before use to ensure system cleanliness.

Chemical-resistant wheels

This machine is fitted with five wheels in total: two 160mm front wheels, two rear 100mm outrigger castors for stability and a single 160mm rear steering wheel. All wheels fitted are aluminium centred and have a hard polyurethane tyre which is very robust.  The wheels are resistant to oil making them ideal for use in harsh industrial environments. Due to the precision bearings used, these wheels make for a low rolling resistance when used on a flat and level floor.

ATEX / UKEX-certified model for Zone 1, 2, 21 and 22 (optional)

Within certain industries, explosive or potentially explosive atmospheres exist; these areas are classified as ATEX / UKEX. We provide fully-certified 'Ex' rated cylinder lifters and inverters for use in these hazardous areas.  Our DTP08-250kg-R500-CR01-Ex is suitable for gas and dust classified spaces: Zone 1, 2, 21 and 22. The cylinder handler & rotator is manufactured to ensure electrical continuity, and a path to ground is always present. We supply our ATEX / UKEX units with a manufacturer’s Declaration of Conformity which demonstrates compliance with the directives and relevant British and ISO Standards.
